The son of a Midwestern sharecropper, he got his start helping his parents on a farm raising grain and livestock. That quickly led to an interest in food and agriculture, and before he graduated from high school he was already steadily in demand for baling hay, building fence and detasseling corn.

A draw to study abroad and intern in the R&D department of an international corporation led to contacts in the business and technology worlds. Upon graduating, his growing knowledge base and curiosity propelled him to pursue further education focused on business, finance, law and human nature.

Dan has been honored to work with top companies—large and small—as well as leading figures in the finance and innovation communities. He is always excited when projects allow him to meet new people, travel to new places or explore new ideas.
